KARACHI: Students paid a unique tribute to cricket legends Misbah-ul Haq and Younis Khan (MisYou) by painting the boundary wall of Karachi’s Sports Complex into a Wall of Fame.

The students, from the CBM University who also run a tuition centre -- have taken the initiative to pay tribute to the two legends who have recently retired from International cricket.

"As the two great players -- Misbah and Younis -- retired from international cricket, we decided to give them a tribute through painting their pictures on the wall of the [Pakistan Sports Board ] sports complex so that people never forget them,” Sohail Mumtaz told The Express Tribune.

Win perfect farewell for Misbah and Younus, says Rashid Latif

According to the 24-year-old boy, “The idea of paying tribute through painting their pictures comes up after watching them retire on high. It was a collective idea and then we decided a place where a majority of the people can see them."

Daniyal Aziz, another student, told The Express Tribune that they had seen many stars and legends forgotten.

“These stars have served our cricket for long periods of time and done a lot for the national team. We don't want people to forget them. This painting will always keep Misbah and Younis alive in the people’s hearts,” he said.

“We will be painting more walls with pictures of former cricket greats who have done the nation proud. We will then go for the legends in other sports as well,” he added.

PSB Sports Complex director Rafiq Pirzada told this correspondent that the students came to him and sought permission to paint the boundary walls of the complex in their unique way to pay tribute to the two legends.

"I instantly allowed them because it will be an honour for us to have the paintings of legends on our walls. This will give motivation to youngsters to come and play,” he said.
