This was stated by former finance minister Dr Salman Shah on Thursday while addressing the third convocation of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (S3H) of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
A total of 169 undergraduate and postgraduate students were awarded degrees at the convocation. Of these, 121 were awarded bachelor’s degrees in Economics, Mass Communication, and Public Administration. The remaining 48 were conferred master’s degrees in Economics, Mass Communication, and Clinical Psychology.
The renowned economist further said that if natural and applied sciences provide the hardware for progress, then social sciences are the proverbial software of development.
