Investment in research and development (R&D) is a central point of economic growth

ISLAMABAD: Investment in research and development (R&D) is a central point of economic growth, said Minister of State for Federal Education Muhammad Balighur Rehman. Addressing a seminar on ‘Innovation-Improving Lives’, organised by the Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan), he said the past few years had seen incredible growth in technology on a global scale. Highlighting the seminar’s theme, the minister said as nations became more globalised, innovation linkages were quickly gaining prominence, leading to collaboration among them involving academia and industry as a key driver of economic growth.
