ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of CADD completed a field survey for Out of School Children (OOSC) and started implementing a policy to enrol children in formal and non-formal schools. With the assistance of some social activists and educationists, the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) enrolled more than 2,000 OOSCs from disadvantaged groups. The enrolment drive has been undertaken in light of the Constitution’s Article 25-A  Right to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2012. They also reviewed and relaxed the admission policy to maximise enrolment. The ICT public sector institutions don’t charge fees and funds from students. In collaboration with the National Commission for Human Development, children in 40 selected religious seminaries of ICT will be enrolled in schools.
