Newly-wed Indian woman kills husband for not being 'handsome'

A woman in India has allegedly murdered her husband because she was upset that he wasn't handsome, police has claimed.

The 22-year old woman, who tied the knot about a week ago, attacked her husband fatally following a quarrel. She smashed his head with a grinding stone, which led to his death.

The woman's husband was a wood sculptor in his mid 20s. According to police, the 22-year-old harboured hatred for him because her friends and family said he was not handsome and not a good match for her.

After she attacked him, she claimed someone had murdered her husband. However, after investigations, she was arrested on the charge of killing him.

The woman was remanded to judicial custody after appearing before a local court.

Well, we gave all the power to women here and I mean in urban areas and they misuse it to the maximum. It seems we Indians men and women are equal in crime too in these cases.Anyways, ipc code 498a, is a woman's tool here. I am facing it all due to our judicial system not making it a law properly. But they forget that divorce rate would probably be highest among the same class of people who they want to marry. Facial beauty is given precedence over all other things. That's is one of the negative influence of Bollywood and Hollywood on our society.

Her family and friends found out that he was not good looking AFTER they got married? This does not make sense at all. They are hiding something. They're the ones at fault for lying to her and now, look at Ms. Universe, doing catwalks on her way to court.
