Man 'loses' car for making 'easy money'

Petitioner moves court seeking FIR against three 'fraudsters'

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions court judge on Monday sought comments from the Faisal Town SHO in response to a plea filed by a man seeking the registration of an FIR against a driver of a local hotel and two others who allegedly refused to return his car.

The petitioner, Ansar Ali, submitted an application in the court stating that the accused – Adnan Rasheed, Usman and Bilal – were known to him. Rasheed, who is providing rent-a-car services at a five-star hotel, along with Usman convinced Ali to run a car for the ride-sharing service Uber through him and make a 'sizeable' profit from it.

Subsequently, the petitioner bought a car and handed it over to them on the promise of "sufficient profit".



After some time, Ali came to know that the two said accused had given the car to Bilal, the third accused who is using the vehicle for the ride-hailing company. After not getting any money, the petitioner finally asked the accused to return his car. At this point instead of giving Ali a straight answer, they dragged the matter on with lame excuses.

Finally, Ali prayed the court to direct the police to register an FIR against the three accused.
