ISLAMABAD: In order to mitigate the water shortage the Water Supply Directorate of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has carried repair and maintenance of 33 tube-wells and two filtration plants. The authority has also fixed 67 leaks and disconnected three illegal connections in addition to the cleaning of filters of different water installations during the last 15 days of March. The Water Supply Directorate is taking these steps to help meet peak demand in upcoming summer season. Most of the tube wells have been made operational after rectifying issues including electric complaints, mechanical and other faults.
