Abdul Khalid, who has been admitted to Mayo Hospital, was travelling on a motorcycle with his cousin Qaboos Butt when two armed suspects forced them to stop near Aqsa Mosque, Sheranwala Gate. The suspects snatched all valuables from the victims on gunpoint.
“They ordered us to hand them over our wallets and we complied,” Qaboos told The Express Tribune. “Then they demanded the motorcycle keys. We did as they said, but they started misbehaving with us at which my cousin asked them to leave instead of harassing us.”
At this, the suspects opened fire at Khalid, 28, and fled. “My brother being shot in front of my eyes was terrifying. I lost my senses,” Qaboos said. “I am still having flashbacks of his screams and the splashes of blood.”
