RAWALPINDI: Dozens of students of the Nursing School at the Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH) staged a protest on Wednesday over non-payment of their honorarium for the last four months.

Around 200 students came out of the school and gathered outside emergency department of BBH and raised slogans against the hospital’s administration.

According to available information, the nursing students gathered at about 11 am at the school ground. Later, they moved outside the emergency department, partially blocking its access route.

To clear the path, the hospital administration pushed the protesting nurses back towards their school. This further enraged the protestors.

The students claimed that they had secured admission in the government-run school since they could not pay heavy fees charged by private schools.
