RAWALPINDI: A kidnapped teenage girl, recovered by police two days ago, has revealed that she had been taken to Karachi and forced into marriage.

Ratta Ammral police station chief Malik Tufail, 14-year-old girl N* in her statement, recorded before a magistrate, said that Khawar had allegedly kidnapped her at gunpoint from outside her house in Dhoke Ratta in Rawalpindi.

She added that Khawar took her across the country to Karachi where she was forced to marry her kidnapper.

Following the alleged forced marriage, she said Khawar brought her back to Dhoke Ratta.

The SHO said that the alleged kidnapper had a record, adding that further investigations in the case could reveal more details about the kidnapping and the kidnappers.

On February 23, N’s mother had registered an FIR against Khawar, his brother Adnan and Nasreen for kidnapping her daughter.

The girl’s mother said that Nasreen had a bad reputation and feared that she may have pushed her daughter in to immoral activities.

After recording the girl’s statement on Monday, the police allowed the girl to go home with her parents.

Earlier on Monday, a scuffle had broken out between relatives of the girl and Khawar in the district court as the suspects reportedly wanted to prevent the girl from recording her statement before the magistrate.
