The world celebrated International Women’s Day on Wednesday to commemorate the movement for women’s rights. Among them were 7.5 million tweets that showed statements of solidarity and appreciation for women.

The tech industry, which is criticised for failing to provide equal representation and support for women in the sector, also came forward to show solidarity with statements of appreciation for women.
