KARACHI: The government has decided to provide bulletproof cars and fail-safe security to federal ministers, foreigners and dignitaries from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during their movement within the country.

According to sources, instructions about enforcement of the decision have been issued to chief secretaries of all provinces. A letter written by Joint Secretary of the Prime Minister Secretariat Abbas Jilani says that Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani was informed by Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti, Parliamentary Secretary for Trade Noor Alam and others that they were receiving death threats. The letter also cites the assault on Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Hamid Syed Kazmi.
