JUI-F leader shot dead in Charsadda

The assailant fled after committing the murder

SHABQADAR: The chief of the local chapter of the Khatm-e-Nabuwat Movement (an anti-Ahmadi movement) and JUI-F leader was killed by unidentified motorcyclist near his home in Charsadda.

Police officials termed the incident a case of targeted killing and said that Haji Kaleemullah was killed near his home in the Prang area. They said that the JUI-F man was lured out of his home before being shot dead.

The assailant fled after committing the murder. The body of the deceased was later brought to the DHQ hospital, where a large number of JUI-F workers also gathered.

JUI-F MNA Gauhar Shah termed the killing a terrorist act and called for immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the incident. He warned that if this was not done, his party would launch an agitation campaign.

Also on Sunday, JUI-F workers staged a protest in the main Shabqadar Chowk against the arrest of their workers and closure of the seminary run by a local JUI-F leader in Tangi.

The protest demonstration was later addressed by the provincial chief of the JUI-F Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and general secretary Maulana Shujaul Mulk.
