Approval Accorded: Shahbaz greenlights Rs550b projects 

More funds have been allocated for the earlier-neglected southern Punjab districts

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif gave his approval on Thursday to welfare schemes worth of Rs550 billion in health, education and cultural sectors. While presiding a meeting, Shahbaz said numerous megaprojects were under way across the province to improve living standards of a common man in prioritised sectors. More funds have been allocated for the earlier-neglected southern Punjab districts for poverty alleviation. Clean water provision in six districts of South Punjab has been decided by Punjab government under its clean water initiative. Shahbaz also directed the concerned authorities to complete development projects earlier than the stipulated time period and to accelerate the ongoing schemes of water drainage in province.
