"Hum Films has received the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for screening Kaabil, and it will be released in the country soon," officials of the private enterprise told The Express Tribune.
However, Central Board of Film Certification chairman Mobashir Hasan told The Express Tribune that despite the NOC, the film was subject to clearance from the censor board.
The film's release will mark the end of the self-imposed ban on Bollywood films in Pakistan.
Govt likely to allow screening of Indian films
Following 'surgical strikes' across the Line of Control, cinema owners in September 2016 had decided not to screen Indian movies until tensions between two countries recede. They took the decision after the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association banned all Pakistani artists from working in film projects in India.
Produced by Rakesh Roshan, Kaabil is a love story of a blind couple, and was released in India on January 25.
