Nabbed: Police bust gang of eight robbers 

Police have recovered weapons, bullets and Rs800,000 in cash from their possession

RAWALPINDI: Police have busted a gang of eight robbers and recovered guns and looted cash from their possession. Addressing a press conference on Friday, SSP Operations Irfan Tariq said that following a sudden spike in robberies in recent months, a special team had been formed under SHO Cantt Javed Iqbal to track and capture the gang. The police managed to arrest eight suspected gang members. SSP Tariq added that police had also recovered weapons, bullets and Rs800,000 in cash from their possession which was believed to have been looted from citizens. During preliminary investigation, the suspects had confessed to various crimes committed in different cities including Lahore and Rawalpindi, the SSP said. These robbers had previously served jail terms as well, SSP Tariq said.
