Malik gives terrorists last chance to surrender

Malik urges Wafaqul Mudaras to form a committee to hold talks with misguided elements.

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehamn Malik on Wednesday said that the Wafaqul Mudaras should form a committee to hold talks with misguided elements.

Addressing the Serat Conference in Islamabad, the interior minister said that he was giving terrorists a last chance to surrender and apologise.

Malik said that talks can be held with the terrorists if they lay down arms. He asserted that the terrorists were being paid to carry out blasts and hatching such conspiracies against Islam will have to be foiled.

He added the terrorists want to create rifts among Pakistanis as a nation.

Malik is telling us that Pakistan is a FAILED STATE. Islamabad's bureaucracy (not a "government") does not control Pakistan's territory: this is the definition of a FAILED STATE. Rawalpindi's men in starched uniforms are no substitute for control, and Islamabad's thieves with Swiss bank accounts are no substitute for government. The cowardly and insecure Pakistani "Army" can't control the INSIDE of Pakistan and is too weak and backward to attack India, so the ISI trains, protects and nurtures terrorists for the Army to hide behind. MEMO to Malik: you must control the Army/ISI or realize that you control NOTHING. When Pakistan finally dissolves, the peoples of current-day Pakistan will finally be able to build their futures, free of Islamabad's and Rawalpindi's death-clutches.

sana | 13 years ago | Reply i have no faith in any of my country politicians.my grandfather came from shia family in patiala.i have many second cousins who are well settled in punjab,delhi and america.we have visited our family in india on cousin marriages.since rise of punjabi taliban in punjab and political chaos adding dissent and extremism is swelling in young minds.i have a question to rational minds .can we take political assylum in uk,usa,india or even iran?we will be first one to be targeted if our govt doesnt control the extremism in punjab province

HUSSAIN | 13 years ago | Reply This is not actually warning but expression of the failure of our law enforcement agencies.What does it mean of offering negotiation when they laid down their weapons.It adversely encouraging the outfits for creating more tense and pressure.The concern authorities well known about the hideouts of these baned organization who are operating by different names,they should be brought into justice without any discrimination.
