Water theft: Seven farmers nabbed

SARGODHA: The agricultural task force teams caught seven farmers over water theft charges in Sargodha.

The irrigation authorities said various teams conducted raids in Midh Ranjha, Ghullahpur, Naseerpur Kalan and caught Khurram Shahzad, Sikandar, Ghulam Jilani, Asif, Tanvir, Kashif and Sharif over stealing water from the canals. Later, the accused were handed over to the police while cases were registered against them.

An official said the irrigation and agricultural departments will continue to take action against those involved in stealing water while strict punishment will also be awarded to them.
