Speaking as the chief guest on the occasion of mass wedding ceremony of 16 Hindu couples in Tando Adam he said that collective marriages are seen as a welfare activity in various societies across the world and, therefore, PHC organizes such events with the cooperation of other welfare organizations.
Mass wedding unites 60 Hindu couples in matrimony
He said that the purpose of such events is to build positive image of the country as well as inclusion of minorities into the national mainstream.
Other PHC leaders including Chaila Ram Kevlani, Paman Lal and Dr Shankar and people from different walks of life also attended the ceremony. PHC also gifted Rs10,000 to every marrying couple.
Dr Ramesh and the Hindu community prayed for a prosperous new year for the country. He said that the community has concerns regarding the possible removal of the minorities bill and said that he will play his role to solve the issue. (TRANSLATION BY ARSHAD SHAHEEN)
