At the opening ceremony, Chinese Consul General in Lahore Yu Boren said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) had the potential to translate historic friendship between both countries into socio-economic development. “Collaboration between both countries can be explored in every sector of mutual interest for the betterment of masses of the region,” he added.
Yu Boren emphasised on strengthening linkages through academia that would enable both sides to share knowledge, expertise and technologies.
UET Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said the Chinese language had the attributes to dominate the world in the upcoming era. “It is essential to learn this mode of communication for effective interaction and opportunity to learn the secret of success,” he said.
