Speaking at a news conference, Muqam said: “The day Benazir Bhutto left us, PPP lost popular support everywhere, even in Punjab, considered to be its stronghold,” Muqam said. He also predicted that the PPP would suffer a condition worse than Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
According to him, PTI chief Imran Khan had failed on all fronts as he had not been able to prove any allegation against the prime minister.
Accusing Imran Khan of whimsical decisions, he pointed out that previously, Imran had insisted upon the formation of a commission for probing the Panama Papers, but now he is refusing the same. “He seeks outcomes to suit his impulses.”
The PM’s adviser stated that Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had provided Imran with an opportunity to deliver, adding that if he had fulfilled any of his electoral promises, he could have nurtured his ambition to become the country’s prime minister.
Imran, according to Amir Muqam, favoured a few [referring to Jehangir Khan Tareen, Aleem Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi] and this was why his own party workers had turned against him.
