Islamic finance has registered outstanding growth over the last decade, said eminent professors from Malaysia Prof Akram Laldin and Prof Rodney Wilson from Durham University UK at a one-day Strategic Workshop on Islamic Finance organised by the Centre of Islamic Finance at COMSATS Institute of Information Technology. The workshop was followed by a presentation on the challenges faced by Islamic banking and finance and was attended by many participants from the seven campuses of COMSATS. State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Islamic Banking division Director Ghulam Muhammad Abbasi inaugurated the event where he deliberated the role SBP is playing to promote Islamic Finance as per government policy. He also pledged support to increase the outreach of Islamic banking in Finance.
