This was announced by the Multan District Coordination Officer Nadir Chatha on Sunday.
He directed the officials of the health department to kill the dogs within one month. The dogs should be given be poisonous medicines, he said, adding after killing them they should be dumped outside the city.
Nadir directed Dr Waseem Rimzi to issue pamphlets to guide the employees on culling the dogs. He ordered new shooters be hired and retired army officers be preferred.
Talking to The Express Tribune Nadir said the district government had received complaints from the citizens regarding the presence of wandering dogs in the streets, mosques, government primary and secondary schools, cattle pen and graveyards.
