LAHORE: Another lineman of the Lahore Electricity Supply Company (LESCO) died after being electrocuted late Friday night, due to non-availability of requisite safety equipment.

Kot Radha Kishan Sub Division’s Lineman, Abdul Sattar, was reportedly repairing a high-tension wire on a consumer complaint when he received a severe shock and died on the spot.

LESCO Chief Executive Officer Wajid Ali Kazmi took notice of the incident and suspended four officials of the sub-division, including XEN Manzooru -Hassan, Sub Divisional Officer Ibrabur Rehman, Line Superintendent Laiq Ahmad and Sub Station Operator Muhammad Arshad, for showing negligence in following safety protocols.

Earlier in August, LESCO Lineman Muhammad Atif Shahzad was electrocuted in Shahdara area and Maqbool Hussain in Jadda Town in October. Both linemen lost their lives while working on electricity lines in absence of proper safety gears.
