Sunday bazaar: Vegetables sold at mixed prices

The price of potatoes also witnessed an increase

LAHORE: The trend of mixed prices persisted in the second consecutive week at Sunday bazaar, owing to ample supply of the produce. The official price list issued by Lahore Market Committee witnessed 67%, 50% and 40% increase in prices of brinjals, radishes and bottle gourd, respectively, when compared to previous week’s prices. Green peas were available for Rs130 to Rs140 per kilogramme (kg), with a 17% increase in their prices. The price of capsicums also witnessed 14% at the weekly market. These were sold for Rs75 to Rs80/kg. The price of potatoes also witnessed an increase. However, tomatoes, spinach, Chinese lemon, cabbages and onions were being sold at a decreased price.
