Here's how Amitabh Bachchan feels about banning Pakistani artists

It appears the ban on Pakistani actors by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) in the aftermath of Uri attacks have left Bollywood completely divided.

While some condemned the ban threat, others supported it. After Ajay Devgn, Farah Khan and Akshay Kumar, Bollywood’s veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan followed suit and has decided to show support for the ban on Pakistani actors, Pinkvilla reported.



Extending his support to the Indian army, Amitabh said, "This is not the right time to ask these questions. The nation is incensed. There is so much anger in the country. It is time to show solidarity for our jawans."

Amid increasing Indo-Pak tensions, the Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) passed a resolution temporarily banning Pakistani actors from working in India on September 29.



The resolution came after Indian nationalist party MNS warned all Pakistani artistes in India to leave the country. The MNS also demanded a ban on Bollywood films featuring Pakistani actors.

Bachchan’s latest film Pink – a courtroom drama-thriller – sees him play a lawyer for three young women who face assault charges after being molested by a group of men. It has been directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury and produced by Shoojit Sircar, who is known for making politically-charged films like Yahaan and Madras Café.
