Bise results announced: ‘40% of first year students passed’

RAWALPINDI: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Rawalpindi (BISE) on Monday announced results of Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) part-I examination for 2016.

The pass percentage in the examinations remained at 40.07 per cent.  According to BISE Chairman Dr Muhammad Zareef, a total of 43,698  candidates (boys and girls) appeared in the HSSC-I annual examination out of which 17,510 were declared successful, while 26,178 failed their examinations.

He said that 44,623 students had enrolled in part-I, but only 43,698 candidates appeared for the exams. Of these, he said, 26,845 were girls while 17,778 were boys.  A total of 882 candidates did not appear for the examinations, the chairman said.
