MQM-Pakistan disowns Nadeem Nusrat, others

KARACHI: In a major decision, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan on Tuesday completely divorced itself from all those members, who are living in London and said to be opposing the exclusion of Altaf Hussain from the party and removed them of the Rabita Committee.

They included party convener Nadeem Nusrat, Mustafa Azizabadi, Wasay Jalil and Qasim Ali Raza, a statement issued by the party said. The decision came following a statement by Nadeem Nusrat who said “the MQM was nothing without Altaf Hussain”, rejecting the so-called “minus-one formula”.

The decision, the statement added, was taken in a meeting of the MQM Rabita (Coordination) Committee chaired by Dr Farooq Sattar at the party’s temporary headquarters. It also mentioned that the membership of those party workers acting against the MQM-Pakistan’ decisions and the policy taken on August 23 will be revoked if they found working contrary to it.

NKAli | 8 years ago | Reply Better late, than never. Now there is no going back and "Pakistan first, everything else after." These are four persons have sacrificed common sense for emotions. Unambiguously, Sattar should have first determined what does the MQM P want? Whether Pakistan or India or somewhere else. Anyway, getting rid of the four should be a stout-hearted step and there must be no going back. Also, no communication whatsoever should be made with MQM London if they want any leverage in politics.
