Enhancing research: 80 laptops distributed among PhD students

Clubs Director Naveed Ahmad said 26 focal persons were given the task to identify and verify deserving PhD scholars

The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Peshawar distributed 80 laptops among PhD students under prime minister’s laptop scheme on Wednesday.

UET Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Iftikhar Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking to participants, Hussain said the prime minister’s laptop scheme has been implemented smoothly and transparently at UET Peshawar. He urged PhD students to make the best use of laptops for research purposes in order to successfully complete their degrees.

He also thanked Higher Education Commission (HEC), saying it was a great step by the federal government to provide high quality laptops to research students.

On the occasion, Clubs Director Naveed Ahmad said 26 focal persons were given the task to identify and verify deserving PhD scholars to make the process of distributing laptops transparent. He also stated the focal persons were given an honorarium for the first time.
