Deadly disease: Two more Congo virus patients hospitalised

A total 86 patients were brought in, out of whom 22 were tested positive

QUETTA: Two more patients suffering from Congo virus were admitted to the Isolation Ward of Fatima Jinnah Chest and TB Hospital, doctors confirmed on Friday.

They said that both the patients were brought to the hospital after complaints of bleeding from nose and mouth, symptoms of the deadly disease.

Doctors said that the two patients had been brought in from Panjpai and Loralai to Quetta.

“Essa Muhammad belongs to Panjpai and Khan Mohammad is from Loralai,” they said. “We have sent blood samples of the patients to Aga Khan Hospital in Karachi for diagnosis and waiting for the test reports,” doctors said.

A total 86 patients were brought to the Isolation Ward of Fatima Jinnah Chest and TB Hospital, out of whom 22 were tested positive.

“Nine of the patients, including an Afghan woman, died of Congo virus at the hospital this year,” said Dr Mukhtar.
