Why are army generals not dismissed from govt: SC

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan asked the Establishment Division Secretary on Thursday to explain why retired army generals working as secretaries in government departments have not been dismissed yet.

The Attorney General informed the court that a two member committee had reviewed 157 cases of contract employees during today's hearing of the case of dismissal of contractual employees.

He said that a proposal for dismissing 14 employees comprising of three federal secretaries and 11 additional secretaries has been sent to the government.

Secretary Establishment Division told the court that the review committee has also proposed for the cancellation of contracts with Directors General FIA and IG Sindh.

Representatives from Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan informed the court that all contract employees have been dismissed. Whereas, Sindh government says 43 of the 82 contract employees have been dismissed so far.
