According to details, Saddar Bairuni police had lodged a murder case against a man, a woman and other unidentified accomplices on the complaint of N’s mother and started investigation.

SB*, a resident of Naseerabad, lodged an FIR saying she got information from the police about the death of her daughter and later identified the body in the DHQ morgue.

Meanwhile, Gulzar-e-Quaid police post in-charge Ahsan Tanvir Kiyani filed a complaint stating that ASI Ikramul Haq took N* into custody from a public park and did not inform his superiors of the recovery.

He added that the ASI handed over the girl to a watchman in Gulbahar housing society instead of trying to search for her family or shifting her to a woman police station.

Kiyani wrote that the ASI showed sheer negligence in his duty and a case should be lodged against him.

City Police Officer (CPO) Israr Ahmed Khan Abbasi suspended the ASI, after which the Airport police booked and arrested him.

A senior police officer said that raids were being conducted to track down the killers, who had fled from Gulbahar Colony after locking up their house. He said that the man accused of raping N* is a milkman who operates in Gulbahar Colony.
