PESHAWAR: Residents in Peshawar enjoyed momentary respite from the scorching heat after the city received light rain on Tuesday. However, a large number of commuters faced difficulties as rainwater accumulated on various roads. Traffic gridlocks were experienced on various thoroughfares, including University Road, Sher Shah Suri Road and GT Road. Long queues of vehicles were seen outside the provincial assembly due to stagnant rain water. According to Meteorological department, 20 millimetres of rain were recorded in the city. Thunderstorms were witnessed in isolated places of the province, including Malakand, Hazara and Kohat divisions.
