The total number of candidates who applied for admission online was 941 against the available 250 seats.
While inspecting the entry test process, Dr Muhammad Ali Shaikh, the vice-chancellor of SMIU, said that the large number of students who are keen to get admission in the varsity is proof that the institute has emerged as one of the best universities.
“Admissions will be given purely on merit basis at SMIU,” said Dr Shaikh, adding that SMIU is providing quality education to the youth of Pakistan.
The university provides scholarships to deserving students as well as various opportunities of participation in national and international leadership programmes.
Interviews of successful candidates will be held from August 10 till August 13 while classes for successful candidates will commence from September 5.
