An Afghan soldier was provided treatment in Pakistan after his condition deteriorated at a check-post located on Torkham border close to Khyber Agency.

Naik Haider had requested for medical treatment after he fell sick opposite to a Pakistani post at Nawa Pass, Bajaur Agency on Tuesday, said a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Da’ish militants: Afghans did not raise cross-border incursions: army

Haider was initially evacuated to the agency's hospital and later to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar where he was operated for appendix free of cost on humanitarian grounds, the communique added.

The soldier returned to Afghanistan with his attendant and thanked the government and Pakistan Army for providing him prompt medical help.

Human cost: ‘Afghan refugees should not be made targets of escalating tension’

On Wednesday, Pakistan military disputed the claims made by Afghan defence officials that they (the Afghan side) had raised the issue of alleged incursion of Da’ish militants into Afghanistan from Pakistan.

According to Pakistani officials, the Afghan side had instead taken up the issue of construction of a border security gate at Torkham but the former maintained that the border management was necessary to curb illegal cross-border movement.

SYED | 8 years ago | Reply Very sound batsman. From day one I love his batting technique. He is right, he watches his foots very closely. But I always thought that he is inspired from Miandad. Anyways, whoever you love, make sure you stick to the crease. Long and consistent innings are required from you, I am badly waiting for those innings, insha ALLAH. Good luck bro!
