While speaking to the media, Minister for Public Health Engineering Shah Farman said that as per the Cabinet’s decision, the family of MPA who gets killed in terrorism-related incidents would get Rs10 million, along with a plot. In case a plot is not available, Farman added, Rs5.5 million would be given to the victim’s family, besides Rs10 million.

Apart from the compensation, the education of the slain MPA’s children till the postgraduate level and his house rent would be also provided by the government, Farman said.
Mass transit
According to a handout issued on Tuesday, the feasibility study for the project has been started. The statement read the infrastructure would be constructed on Corridor-2 – from Chamkani to Karkhano Market via Sunehri Masjid, Sir Syed Road and Jamrud Road. The project was said to be completed by 2018.
Although there are rules and ordinances for transport related issues, new laws would be introduced for the mass transit system.
Boilers act
The Cabinet also approved the draft of K-P boilers and pressure vessels act that is aimed to monitor the use of boiler and pressure vessels, mostly in factories, across the province.
While talking to the media, Farman said the K-P industries department presented the bill before the Cabinet that approved it and now the bill would be tabled before the K-P Assembly.

He added the law will ensure action is taken against illegal boilers. Moreover, fine has also been increased on tampering with boilers and hiding accidents pertaining to them.
The Cabinet also established a committee for a “Zone-6” in the K-P Public Service Commission for the underdeveloped districts of the province.
Dry fruits
Furthermore, the Cabinet decided to reduce forest duty on dry fruits that grow in various forests across the province.
Under the K-P Forest Ordinance, 2002, the provincial government has imposed duties on these items that are transported to various parts of the country and abroad, Farman told the media.
