No Pokemon Go on city roads, Mumbai police advises citizens

While Pokemon Go continues to gain popularity among the masses around the world, it has also raised concerns as Indian police advised the citizens on Monday to not make it a cause of accidents on city roads.

The new location-based augmented reality game is getting particularly popular among the youth, prompting the police to issue a series of tweets to warn people about the associated hazards, reported NDTV.

"Life is not a game. Especially not one to be played on the roads!" one of the tweets said.

"What we don't know is usually what gets us killed!" Roads have never been the best place to play games!" another tweet cautioned.

The reality-based game first released in the US, New Zealand and Australia is now available in no less than 30 countries, turning into a rather global phenomenon.



What’s interesting is that the game has not been officially launched in India but already has the youth busy in downloading third-party apps to be able to play it.

Some of the gamers in other countries have met with accidents while playing Pokemon, prompting similar warnings to observe caution by local authorities.
