MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM: England were 98 for one in their second innings, a lead of 489 runs, at stumps on the third day of the second Test against Pakistan at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Alastair Cook, the England captain, was 49 not out and Joe Root 23 not out.

Pakistan lead the four-match series 1-0 after their 75-run win in the first Test at Lord's.

Naresh | 8 years ago | Reply I think England have been demoralized by their defeat to Pakistan in the First Test. The weather for the next two days in Manchester predicts Light Rain. As such England will not let Pakistan play for more than 120 possibly 130 Overs as by doing so Pakistan might hand England a Second Defeat. Cheers

ishrat salim | 8 years ago | Reply That is what you call learning from mistakes which made English team a winner by a huge margin, while we are still basking in first day victory. One match victory makes our team swollen headed, arrogant and complacent. This is what the second match has exposed. Now, the team will never recover, just watch, because we are a very proud nation.
