22-Year-Old Crime: PSP’s Kaimkhani denies charges

HYDERABAD:

Pak Sarzameen Party leader Anis Kaimkhani denied on Saturday any links with a 22-year-old crime for which he was booked by Hyderabad Cantt police. Kaimkhani recorded his statement to Cantt police station sub-inspectors Khalid Bughio and Maqsood Shah in Karachi Central Jail. He claimed to be in Karachi in 1994 on the day of the incident. Kaimkhani, along with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s leaders Kunwar Naveed and former MNA Salahuddin, besides others were charged in the FIR. In 2003, a court exonerated Naveed and Salahuddin but declared Kaimkhani a proclaimed offender because he did not appear before the court. The FIR was lodged on the complaint of a bus driver who accused Kaimkhani and his accomplices of opening fire on his vehicle and setting it on fire.
