The USAID funded the exchange programme, which offered participants an opportunity to engage in research related to energy challenged in Pakistan. According to a press release, Martin urged the students and faculty members to put their new skills and experiences to use in their country. “We aim to provide opportunities to promising young researchers,” the statement cited Martin as saying. “In doing so, we hope to break down barriers for innovators who will find solutions to the development challenges facing Pakistan and the world.”
A participant of the programme, Muhammad Ishaq, said the exchange visit was a valuable opportunity for him to improve his research skills, experience American culture and make new friends.
