Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senior leader Amir Khan has been temporarily suspended from the Rabita Comittee, the party’s policy-making body, according to sources in the MQM. The decision had been approved by party chief Altaf Hussain and was taken due to reservations with Khan. Currently, Khan is said to be in Dubai. However, the MQM has yet to confirm the suspension official but a Nine Zero official said the decision has been made. It is expected that a statement will be issued soon to clarify the matter. Separately, the party inducted six new members into the Rabita Committee. The new members are Muhammad Akram Rajput, Shahid Ali, Ashraf Noor, Faiz Muhammad, Zakir Qureshi and Ruknuddin. Two senior workers, Abid Shaikh and Manzoor Jokhio, were also admitted into the party’s central executive committee.
