Cybercrime bill: Senate committee looks into PECB  

The convener asked all the stakeholders to forward the suggestions and recommendations to the committee

ISLAMABAD: A sub-committee on Information Technology here on Wednesday discussed the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill (PECB) 2016 clause-by-clause and sought suggestions from various stakeholders. The committee meeting held under the chairmanships of its convener Senator Osman Saifullah Khan and discussed clause of the bill 9, 10, 18, 21, 22, 28, 29, 38 and 45 in details and also listened to the point of views of stakeholders and general public. The convener asked all the stakeholders to forward the suggestions and recommendations to the committee. Chairman of Senate Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication Senator Shahi Syed constituted a three-member sub-committee to formulate recommendations on the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Bill-2016 within 60 days.
