Behind bars: CTD arrests militant, eight facilitators 

The SSP revealed that Rehman said he used to provide motorbikes to suicide bombers to target government installations

PESHAWAR: The counter-terrorism department officials arrested a militant and eight facilitators belonging to a banned organisation on Tuesday.

CTD SSP Dr Mian Saeed told journalists that CTD officials managed to arrest a militant identified as Fazal Rehman. He was taken into custody from Warsak Road and belonged to a banned organisation.

The SSP revealed that during interrogation, Rehman said he used to provide motorbikes to suicide bombers to target key government installations and educational institutions.

He said the CTD also seized 50kg of explosives, 441 feet of prima cord, detonators and other arms and ammunition from his possession. Besides, he pointed out CTD officials also arrested eight facilitators of a banned militant outfit.

He said all the suspects were involved in Mathra blasts, target killings and extortion.
