Accountability: ‘Govt delaying probe into Panamagate’
He criticised the government for ignoring development work carried out by the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
LAHORE:
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Chaudhry Sarwar said on Sunday the government was responsible for delaying investigation into the Panama Papers controversy. “The government has crossed all limits of corruption… incumbent rulers will be in a deep trouble,” he said. Railway Minister Khwaja Saad Rafique had claimed on Sunday that the opposition was responsible for delay in the investigation because it had failed to finalise terms of reference (ToRs) for the purpose. Sarwar said the situation in the country would have been different had government leaders focussed their energies on solving people’s problems. He said the rulers had been unable to fulfil promises made with people. He criticised the government for ignoring development work carried out by the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “It seems that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz has gone blind to the progress made in K-P,” the PTI leader said. “Opposition parties and the people will have no choice but to take to the streets if accountability is not ensured in the country.”
