Across The Country: Govt keen to tap mineral potential
In Balochistan over 51 metallic and non-metallic minerals have been discovered

The federal government is planning to introduce numerous schemes next year, aimed at enhancing exports and creating employment opportunities. Apart from on-going scheme of capacity building and geophysical survey of sub-surface pre-cambrian shield rocks, new schemes have been planned for Punjab. Major plans of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa minerals development department include an establishment of new mines labour welfare dispensaries and water supply schemes in cluster of mine areas on need basis. In Balochistan over 51 metallic and non-metallic minerals have been discovered, out of which 29 are being exploited, while Sindh has attained a significant importance in its stratigraphic settings and natural resources potential.
