Six-year-old child raped by 16-year-old relative in Hyderabad

Police lodges FIR against 16-year-old suspect under section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code

HYDERABAD: A minor girl was allegedly raped by an adolescent boy at Mairasi Mohallah in Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Market Police Station SHO Muneer Abbassi said that a six-year-old daughter of Arbab Shaikh was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 16-year old boy who happened to be her relative.



The extended family lives in the same compound where the suspect allegedly lured the child to the rooftop and assaulted her, SHO Abbassi said, adding that the accused was arrested after the victim’s parents reported the case. “The girl has been sent for medical examination at Liaquat University Hospital Hyderabad,” he said.

Additional Police Surgeon Dr Abdul Waheed confirmed that the case has been received at the LUH, adding that the child has been referred to a gynaecologist for medical treatment.

The police also lodged an FIR on Shaikh's complaint under section 376 of Pakistan Penal Code.



In January, a seven-year-old boy was gang-raped before being killed by a group of men in Bahawalnagar’s Chistian district.

Asif*, a resident of Moza Soda Basti, went missing a day after which locals found his body dumped in the fields.

According to reports, the body was sent for post-mortem examination which revealed that the 7-year-old was killed after being brutally raped. A police official Sahar Fareed said an FIR had been lodged against four suspects of whom three have been arrested.
