HANGU: A series of water supply and development projects have been announced for the displaced families of the Akhil and Mullakhel tribes of Orakzai Agency.

This was said by Orakzai Political Agent Muhammad Zubair Khan. He was speaking at the foundation stone-laying ceremony of Orakzai Press Club in Ghaljo, Orakzai Agency on Thursday.

“A solar-powered system will be launched in areas that are facing severe water shortage,” he said.

According to Muhammad Zubair, the survey of the families who have been repatriated will be completed by the end of June.

“After the completion of the survey, the displaced populations will be provided funds for the rehabilitation and construction of damaged houses,” he said.

As per the political agent, the tribes people have been repatriated after eight years and are in desperate need of timely relief.

The political agent also inaugurated Malang Garhi Road in Akhil Toda Mela. He visited a basic health unit and schools. Muhammad Zubair instructed the education officer to ensure locals who have occupied these schools to vacate them at once.
