Double Nikah: Petition against ‘wayward’ daughter
She requested the court to direct the Islampura SHO to register a case against Sumaira and Abid
LAHORE:
An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday sought comments from the Islampura SHO in connection with a woman’s petition against her daughter. Petitioner Bilqees Bibi told the court that her daughter Sumaira had gotten married to one Ghulam Fareed four years ago. Bibi said he had later relocated to Dubai. She said her daughter had then eloped with one Abid and gotten married to him without obtaining a divorce from Fareed. This, Bibi said, was tantamount to adultery. She requested the court to direct the Islampura SHO to register a case against Sumaira and Abid.
