“It is an honour for me, my foundation and the whole of Pakistan. Like I always say, my charity work is not in competition with anyone. It is for those who need our help. I’m only doing it for Allah and will continue to work,” Shahid Afridi said, while speaking to The Express Tribune.
Another Pakistani philanthropist and Chairman of Taaleem Foundation Dr Zafar Iqbal Qadir also received the 3G Critics' Choice Literacy and Female Education Award 2016 on behalf of his organisation, Radio Pakistan reported.

Dr Zafar Iqbal Qadir established Taaleem Foundation as a non-profit community support organisation in 1989. It is now imparting education in the far-flung areas of Pakistan.
The two-day Global Donors Forum was held in Istanbul. Prominent leaders from the government, business, and charitable sectors as well as academicians and researchers discussed critical issues including social finance, impact of philanthropy for Sustainable Development Goals, resilience and radicalisation, diplomacy and strategic communication and philanthropic response to refugees’ crisis.
