LAHORE: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Wednesday sought a report from the Higher Education Department secretary over reports that the Intermediate Part-II English question paper had been leaked before the start of the exam.

The CM has ordered an inquiry and sought action against those responsible.

According to media reports, the question paper of English Part-II was available to some candidates a few hours before the start of the exam.

According to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Lahore, unidentified individuals had sent pictures of the question paper from the examination centre using Whatsapp. In a statement, a BISE Lahore spokesman confirmed the incident and said that it was a serious offense.

“An FIR has been lodged against unidentified culprits at the Civil Lines police station,” the statement said. It said that the BISE chairman had instructed examination staff to thoroughly check all candidates for possession of mobile phones at the time of their entrance to examination centres.
